Air fryer food safety

Cooking times vary. For raw meat, poultry and fish, a food thermometer is how you know it's done.

Time is not proof of safety

Air fryers vary in power, basket size and airflow, so every cooking time is an estimate. Cooking time alone does not prove raw meat or poultry has reached a safe internal temperature. Color and appearance don't either. Use a food thermometer where it applies.

Raw vs. fully cooked

Many frozen foods look alike but are either raw or already cooked. Breaded chicken can look browned and still be raw. Always check the package. If it doesn't say fully cooked, treat it as raw.
